Rujak Kambeng


Every country in the world has special food where the food is to be special food of their county. So, people who hearing or eating the food immediately know from where the food is. In Indonesia itself, there are many special foods, of course, because Indonesia has a lot of diversity of tribes, cultures, languages, and islands. Almost every region in Indonesia has special food for example is Madura Island. Madura Island has many special foods, one of them is Rujak Kambeng from Arosbaya Bangkalan.
             Rujak may be familiar on our hearing as Indonesian people, especially for Javaness and Maduraese because both of them prefer to rujak. Rujak cingur is special food from Java and rujak kambeng is special food from Madura exactly Arosbaya Bangkalan. The meaning of word  "kambeng '" itself comes from Madura’s language which has means "floating" because this rujak is served with a lot of spice. It is one of the differences that make rujak kambang is the most popular than the others rujak. The differences of rujak kambeng is also about the taste which very acidic because one of the ingredients is vinegar. The ingredients of rujak are also different from the others rujak, there are salt, black petis, water from the fish stew, vinegar, and several kinds of fruit such as jicama, cucumber, ambarella, mango, starfruit and papaya. Rujak kambang has two kinds of taste. Those are rujak kambang petis and rujak kambang peanut. The differences both of them is in ingredient.
