Geger
hill is one of the hills in Bangkalan. It’s also become the icon of Geger. The
location of Geger hill in Geger’s village.
From Bangkalan, we need time for about one hours and
30 km to arrive in there. Geger hill has a beautiful view and the air is very
cool. There are so many trees of acacia and Mahoney that make Geger hill more
look beautiful. The visitors can see
directly kinds of
animal species, even some belonging to rare and endangered species. Among of
them, there are thousands of gray-skinned monkeys with long tails. Their
activity look like human life. They do interaction one of each other.
Sometimes, they do interaction with the visitors.
Beside of them, still there is the most interesting
that make people or visitors interested to go to there. It
is about the conditions of Geger hill, in
Geger hill, there are five grottos which the most legendary and famous. They
are 1) Goa Petapan (grotto of meditation) 2) Goa Potre (grotto of female) 3)
Goa Planangan (grotto of man) 4) Goa Pancong Pote (grotto of white decapitation)
5) Goa Olar (grotto of snake). Until now, Geger hill is called as one of the
religion place by society in bangkalan or out of bangkalan.
Mr. Latif is one of the society who lived in around
of Geger hill. He is also
to be a teacher in junior high school
1 Geger. He knows a little bit the history of Geger. He said “the history of
Geger hill is Patih Pranggulan with her mother. Geger hill is the first place
for the first person who lived in Madura. She
is a mother from Patih Pranggulan from kingdom of
Medang. Along time ago, she is chased
away from the kingdom of Medang because she is pregnant without wedlock. It
made her father very angry and he directly drive out her daughter from the
kingdom. The king asked one of the servants to bring her out of the kingdom and
killed her. In the journey, the servant felt pity and he cannot killed her. He decided to
leave her in an island (Madura)”. From this history, we know that the first
people in Madura is come from java.
It is a little story and also
